I’m Abbie Hugill, a landscape and editorial photographer based in the South-West of England. I spent the majority of my life in a bustling urban town in Hampshire, where I grew up surrounded by the fast pace of city life. However, in 2018, my family made the life-changing decision to relocate to Cornwall in search of a better quality of life. This move was a significant shift for me, and while it took time to adjust, it ultimately transformed my outlook and enriched my life in ways I hadn’t anticipated.

Living in Cornwall has fuelled my passion for photography, offering an expansive and breathtaking canvas right on my doorstep. Over time, I’ve come to appreciate just how fortunate I am to call this stunning region home, especially as Cornwall has blossomed into a sought-after destination for visitors from all over the world.

During my university years, I had the chance to explore a wide variety of photographic disciplines, including advertising, product, fashion, lifestyle, portraiture, sports, macro, and landscape photography. Each of these areas presented unique challenges and rewarding experiences, but in recent months, my focus has shifted predominantly towards landscape photography. The awe-inspiring landscapes of Devon and Cornwall, in particular, have deepened my connection to nature and helped me develop a profound bond with the places I capture. Through this practice, I’ve found a greater sense of immersion and meaning in the environments I photograph.
